In short

What Xifex is

Xifex is a browser extension for x.com. It labels posts in your For You feed with whether their author follows you, and adds search and filters to your own Followers, Verified followers and Following lists.

Data Xifex handles

To do this, Xifex reads public account details that the X page has loaded: names, handles, bios, profile pictures, follower and following counts, verification, and whether an account follows you or you follow it. This information is held in your browser's memory for the open tab only. It is discarded when you reload the page, switch accounts or close the tab.

Data Xifex stores

Xifex stores two things in your browser's extension storage, on your device only:

You can delete saved filters in Xifex, or remove everything by clearing the extension's data or uninstalling it.

Requests Xifex makes

Xifex talks only to x.com, using the session already signed in to your browser. When you open Filter, it reads further pages of your own list by repeating the read-only list request the X page made. When a post author's follow status is missing from the feed, it makes one read-only profile request for that author, limited to about 30 per minute. Xifex does not have its own login, does not use an API key, and does not extract or store session tokens. X's own privacy policy applies to these requests.

Actions on your behalf

Xifex never follows or unfollows anyone by itself. When you choose to unfollow an account, it opens X's own confirmation for that single account, and X performs the action only if you confirm.
